LONG TAIL CAST ON

Combines yarn from both a tail and the working yarn.

Start by pulling a tail of yarn long enough to cast on the number of stitches specified in the pattern from the ball. Make a slip knot, place the needle in the loop and adjust the tail making the loop tight around the needle.

Hold the needle in your right hand, the yarn with the tail over you thumb and the working yarn over your index finger. This forms a triangle shape with the yarn and fingers.

With the needle, scoop the yarn that is around your thumb and then catching the working yarn around your index finger. Pull the needle with yarn through the loop created by the tail. 1 new stitch has been created on the needle. Repeat as many times directed in the pattern.
