The garments we always reach for may not be the most complex. As we've been working on Pattern No 000, it became clear that its strength lies in its simplicity, which is exactly why we chose to offer it to you free of charge.

Double knitting with 1 strand.

The edge on the scarf.
For many of us, knitting began with a scarf. Perhaps in simple stockinette or garter stitch. In shifting colors, a little uneven in width or shorter than planned. There's something very nostalgic about those first pieces, and we still hold that feeling close. With this pattern, we wanted to revisit the scarf but introduce you to double knitting, and the beautiful, structured fabric it creates.
It's a way of taking something familiar and elevating it into a piece that feels refined, almost as if it were crafted by a luxury atelier. A project that is both approachable and deeply satisfying to make.

As we finished the piece, blocking proved to be an essential step. To achieve a clean and even result we recommend both wet and steam blocking. Gently applying lengthwise tension and hang dry with support from gravity to help the scarf settle into its final shape.
