We wanted to explore how this design would look and feel in a more natural yarn. By holding alpaca wool together with merino wool, we created a slightly bulkier fabric with a beautifully soft and structured finish.

Grivette Designs beautiful, feminine and rounded Neckline. This is an easy knit for the beginners but so versatile and beautiful with the small details.

We wanted to use a mohair instead of alpaca but could not find Mulesing-free yarn for it. The alpaca does give the fluffiness but has more air in it so the fabric will be heavier and thicker. It would be lovely to see this one with mohair and merino wool sometime.

For this version, we chose to shorten the sleeves a little, as the original design has a more generous length. It also turned out to be a practical adjustment, allowing the yarn to go further while still maintaining balance in the overall look. The result feels harmonious, especially since the body has a bit more weight to it.

We start from the Upper Back creating the Increases next to the Stitch Marker placed x nr st from each edge. Then we Pick Up stitches from each shoulder. Here you see the Right Shoulder of Back.

We also fell a little extra for the tweed yarn. It adds such depth and character, and gives the piece a playful, textured finish.

When Pick Up stitches for the Neckline ensure to pick one extra stitch between the Increased edge end the x nr stitches that binds the front. With this, you will not get any holes and instead a beautiful closed finish.

We use Italian 1x1 Bind Off for both hems (arm and body). This is much easier then it may look and we have created a tutorial on our Studio to give you the support you need to create this beautiful finish!
